Industrious Noise (co-leader)

Industrious Noise is a Boston-based creative music ensemble that focuses on creating smooth and seamless transitions between composition and free improvisation. The original compositions draw from a variety of influences, most prominently the odd meters and eastern tonalities of ethnic Balkan music, modern jazz and rock. The members of the trio are Chris Veilleux (saxophones), Phil Sargent (guitar), and Mike Connors (drums).

Dan Blake, Chris Veilleux Soprano Sax Duo

This soprano sax duo began as two sopranos practicing together. It then morphed into us composing these exercises as a means of expanding our technique and offering different outlets for improvisation. Our pieces were heavily influenced by the duos of Steve Lacy and Evan Parker.
